Biblical marriage

A Biblical marriage covenant is a sacred, lifelong, three-party oath between a man, woman and God, designed to reflect Christ’s unconditional love for the Church. Unlike a contract, this “one -flesh” union is unconditional, based on faithfulness rather than performance, and is established through vows and consummation.

Key Principles and Characteristics:

• Three-party agreement: God is a direct witness and participant in the covenant.
• Lifelong commitment: It is a permanent commitment, non-breakable bond, not merely a temporary agreement.
• Unconditional love: Modeled after Christ’s sacrifice, it is a covenant-keeping love that remains even when love wanes
• Theological Symbolism: Represents the relationship between Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:21-33)
